The 17 Camels Misery and the Saint

Once upon a time there was a Man, who lived in a small village, had three sons. He had 17 camels with him and used them for his household earning.

During his 60s he suffered from a severe heart attack and died, but he left a letter for his three sons.

It ran as below:

"Dear Son,
I want you three to always stay united and strong. As I wont be between you I want you to take your own decisions correctly......

I don't have properties to distribute between them, but all I have is these 17 Camels.

I want you to distribute them in between you all brothers as:

Give half of the camels to youngest brother
One third to the second one
And one ninth of the camels to oldest brother.

Your beloved Father
.
"

All the three sons read the letter. They were sad about their father's death but also at the same time they were confused about how to do the distribution of camels between them.

They went to one elder person of village and asked him whether he can solve this issue but he denied to do so as it looked quiet impossible to distribute 17 camels in to any of the case..

17 can not be halved.(Obviously distributing 8.5 camels will kill one)

By that time all people were discussing this issue in the village, a saint was passing by them who also had a camel with him.

Those three sons looked him and requested him to solve this issue." Oh saint! We are having an issue ........( and explained the issue)....

We think you, being a saint having immense knowledge, can solve this issue. We request you to have a cup of milk in our house and then have a look at the issue please.

The saint refused the milk and said let me first solve your issue,

(Obviously ,in real life, who has drink the milk(satirically whoever took the fees/money) first has never done the job requested satisfactorily)

The saint sat in front of the hut and all the camels were there and all the people looked at him with a deep hope.

One thing I want to mention here is that saint's camel also sat beside those 17 camels.

As the saint had already heard the issue from them.

He said: OK first of all divide those camels in two halves.

It went like 18/2= 9 ( on each side)

18 because -17 of father + 1 of saint

Saint ordered to give those 9 camels to youngest son later on.Then he told to partition away one third of those camels.

It went like 18/3 = 6 (on one side and 12 on other)

And said to give those 6 camel to second brother later on
Now he said to divide camels in one ninth part.

It went like 18/9= 2(on one side and 16 on other)

He ordered to give those 2 camels to oldest brother.
So till now he distributed the camels between this brothers as

9(youngest)+6(second)+2(oldest) = 17

And the 18th camel was his which he took and went out of the village silently without even drinking the milk which those people offered to him ..

All the people there were happy and felt gratitude for the saint but the they couldn't find him around any more. Because before all this saint was just passing by this scene for some of his target set by himself, and he had to achieve move on again. This situation also taught them a lesson that, if you are on a journey to achieve your target set by yourself than keep moving on to the path, even though there would be many obstacles in between.

Dead Father shocked saint rocked!!
