Transfer data from one Google Drive account to another

There are two types of google account (from this articles perspective)

1. Normal Google accounts.
2. G-Suite Account - Usually used by colleges and other organizations.

Notice: If you don't want to read the whole post you can simply just watch the video given at the end of this article.

Below mentioned are two possible situation of transferring data between google accounts:

1. Transferring data from one normal account to another normal account OR from one Gsuite account to other Gsuite account (of same domain ).
2. Transferring data from one Gsuite account to normal account or vice versa OR from one Gsuite account to another Gsuite account (of different domains).

For Case 1: Transfer Ownership

For Case 2: Drive Migrator

• Install this extension : Drive migrator in your google chrome web browser.
• Make a folder in your account in which your current data exist. 
• Put all the data you want to transfer in that folder.
• Share that folder with the google account in which you want to transfer the data.
• Now sign in to that account using google chrome. 
• Open Drive migrator app using the link: chrome://apps/

• After that the app script page will open up and it will ask for permissions, just click on agree and the next page will look like this

• Click on that icon which looks like pen.
• A window will open with all the folders of your google drive listed in it.
• Just select that particular folder which you shared from your previous account to this one.
• Click on copy and then you can close this script window of drive migrator app.
• An excel sheet will be auto generated in your google drive named: My Backup "Date of copy" - "time of Copy" 
• It consist of the list of all the data in that shared folder and the status of them respectively, using which you can track that which file has been transferred successfully or which is not yet processed or if some file did not make it through due to some technical reasons like - storage full.
• Once at least one of the file gets transferred in your drive account it will be transferred in a folder called My Backup "Date of copy" - "time of Copy".
• You can imagine it as of the same directory structure as your shared folder with just name changed to My Backup "Date of copy" - "time of Copy".
• After all these things are done you can disconnect drive migrator app from your gmail account it wont affect your transferred data.
